This self-taught quilter of 24 years heads up the Postcard Posse for the Troops. To date more than 525 postcards have been shipped to the men and women in uniform who are serving us overseas. |
Dear Friend -
Once again, Penny's Postcard Posse is rounding up fabric postcards to send to the troops abroad.
Here's the scoop:
Quilter Nancy and her friends in Idaho are baking 1000 dozen cookies to send overseas for the holidays, and they would like to include a fabric postcard with each dozen.
That's 1000 fabric postcards! By December 7!
Like the White Rabbit said "No time to say "Hello." / Goodbye. / I'm late, I'm late, I'm late. " Well, we're not late, but we don't have time to lose.
This really isn't so overwhelming. We've lined up 2 schools of children - 300 postcards coming from each school. So, our task is to get just 400!
The guidelines are the same - any size, any shape, any color, any design. Suggestions include Holiday, Welcome Home and Happy New Year designs. Most of the cards have been about 4" by 6." But, looking at the pictures of other cards, you can tell, the range is wide.
Here are some Patterns to get you started - quick and basic. They are free, and feel free to share them with your friends. This is a pdf file, and should be easy to download, if you have a recent version of Adobe Reader. If not, get one here: Get Adobe Reader here.
